    While I think this guy is a coward of the highest degree, I am also a bit confused about one thing. I was under the impression that a number of times, courts have ruled that police do NOT have a responsibility to protect the public, or an individual against harm. They are there to solve the crime, and capture the correct perp, and aid prosecution.

    I'm actually kind of surprised he hasn't committed suicide by now,......but I guess a person so self-interested wouldn't feel any guilt over a bunch of dead kids.

    What ever his fate, he has to live with it. I?m thinking if he?d gone in, how would the outcome have been different.
    I wish they?d bring his chief up on charges. He?s a scumbag.

    Most time, the attackers surrendered or kill themself when confronted.

    ha. I've been told by cops right to my face that they're only here (after calling 911) out of their own courtesy. (never mind the paycheck and free donuts) should have told them go away and send me some different cops then.

    this was an extreme situation. choose between saving your own ass from getting shot to death, or protect the schoolkids from the same.

    some would step up to it from a sense of duty, some wouldn't. are they legally required to risk their lives? I suppose not.

    This cop was placed there for a specific duty TO PROTECT THE CHILDREN, he wasn't there to direct traffic.
    This shameful excuse for a law enforcement officer will live out his days in shame and disgrace regardless of what they do to him and every second of his misery will be well deserved.

    I liken SRO's to soldiers, there to protect the innocent at any cost, soldiers (MEN) don't run from or hide from their duty to protect the innocent, many of the (unarmed) students did however rise to the occasion and tried to end the threat and died for their efforts ........ these were the heroes of that tragic day.

    If this had been a military scenario he would be facing a Court Martial for cowardice in the face of the enemy, a death sentence during war time.

    I think even nervous as hell "Barney Fife" would have sucked it up and went in even knowing he only had 1 bullet in his revolver...... knowing it was his duty ;)

    What was he there for, if not to protect the Students, from exactly what transpired?

    The lawyer added this statement: ?President Eisenhower has said that ?the search for a scapegoat is the easiest of all hunting expeditions.? Today the individuals who have made this charging decision have taken the easy way out and blamed Mr. Peterson for the actions on February 14, 2018, when there has only ever been one person to blame ? Nikolas Cruz.?

    This "Officer," deserves his reckoning.

    First of all, I would ask him - "What did you think you were there for?"

    A US judge has already ruled that a police officer has no Duty to protect Parkland students during mass shooting....

    I think he will fry in hell, and I think he should fry by having gasoline thrown on them and torched. But where a judge has already ruled that he had no duty to protect, nothing will come of this
