Dog is going to Hate me Tommorrow-
Mixed some leftover Ramen noodles, with added tabasco, diced onion, and a tablespoonful of Chinese hot sauce, (tomato based, olive oil, with hot pepper seeds mixed in.) In with his food. He loved it.
He will be hating me, when he has the Johnny Cash "Ring of Fire," going on tommorrow.
It could be worse, he could be a Pit Bull or something.

Onions are not good for dogs.
Onions contain a toxic principle known as N-propyl disulfide. This compound causes a breakdown of red blood cells, leading to anemia in dogs.
The toxin causes oxidative damage to your dog's red blood cells by attaching to the oxygen molecules in your dog's red blood cells. This reduces the ability of the red blood cells to carry oxygen, and also tricks your dog's body into thinking that the blood cell is an invader. The red blood cell is destroyed in a process known as hemolysis, resulting in hemolytic anemia.
A few are not goping to hurt him but I would not feed my dogs onions, knowingly YMMV.0 -

My 2 went swimming in the creek today, unauthorized, while I was weed wacking so I got to wash dogs today. My young dog also killed a frog and rolled on it so not only was he wet and muddy he had bloody gobs of frog all over his back.

Our pup is 5 and has never had ?people food.? He grazes on grain free in 3 separate bowls (house, porch and garage). Ms WT makes him healthy treats and he?ll get the occasional milkbone treat. We?re extremely glad that we started him out like this. He never begs at the table or when I?m forging myself on unhealthy snacks. 0 -
One great treat for a dog is Strawberry's. I go down to the farmers market when they are in season and get a bunch of them(like 40#). I like them and so do the dogs. They make a great treat for dogs and you can freeze them. In AUG when its hot a hell I given to the dogs frozen as a treat. Frozen they can be used in drinks 0 -

What "Grain Free food," do you feed him?

My dog is currently working on a 33# bag of Diamond Natural Chicken/Brown Rice.
Before that it was Tractor Supply, Untamed (Lintil, Buffalo.) Both grain free. What do you feed Sir? Both mixed with high end moist. Tractor Supply 4 Health, ect.0 -

Currently feeding Diamond Naturals. Chicken/Brown Rice. 33# at about $30-$35. (They also have Beef and Rice, Lamb and Rice, etc.) All good stuff. Available at out local (Tri-State) local feed store.
Previously, Tractor Supply "Untamed" (Red Canyon Recipe.) Buffalo and Lentil, about $35-40/25lbs.
Both about 26-28% Protein. No grain.
Loves them both.
Gets high end moist mixed in. Tractor Supply 4 Health, is excellent, rated 4*. As well as high end table scraps. (Steak scraps etc.)0 -

Ken, you can figure all this out if you do Google search it what not to feed your dog. I know you want to do the best for buddy, but you need to be aware of what he cannot eat0 -

I looked at Costco?s grain free. Ms WT said NO as their first ingredient was chicken / beef / whatever meal. She said that wasn?t as good as what we?re already using.
We looked at Tractor Supply but I can?t remember why we bypassed it. Most likely the ?meal? thing. Who knows - she?s the boss...
Either way - the pups deserve healthy food and the grain free leads to fewer and smaller ?cigars? left in the yard.0 -
I can tell when my Dog is getting Premium food, when his Poops, are High and tight.
He gets premium flavor/broth when I scavenge/slow cook drippings, from whatever flat pan I am cooking on. Steak/Chops, etc.

Buddy has been acting like a Puppy, all day. Rambunctious, playfully aggressive, (we've been throwing/fetching, playing tug of war on multiple toys.) growling/barking at me, (had a couple howling sessions) demanding attention, etc. Wanna go out front, wanna go out back, ad nauseam. He has me trained really well.
He has been hysterical.

Never said I could take him. He is a handfull when rough housing. I would really not want him going after me when seriously pissed. He respects me though. A total sweetheart with me. A Great Dog.
Could not even imagine a "pack" of Pits after me, or even more than one. (Of Unfriendly/aggressive demeanor.)
One, maybe. Two? You would be screwed. Three, you would be totally hosed.0
