They have now gone over 2000 cases of Ebola in Eastern DR Congo. The fatality rate is right at 2/3's.
This is a major outbreak and probably left over from the last one. One big problem is the clinics are getting attacked and looted.

Local mistrust of health workers and attacks on Ebola clinics by armed militias have contributed to an acceleration in what is now the second-worst outbreak of the virus on record.
The outbreak reached 1,000 cases in March, more than seven months after it was first detected in August last year. It took less than three more months to reach 2,000, according to Democratic Republic of Congo?s health ministry and aid agency figures. More than 1,300 have died.
Responders face twin obstacles: resistance from communities who believe that Ebola is a conspiracy made up by aid agencies and the government, and from armed groups seeking to stoke instability for their own gain.
?The current response to tackle Ebola isn?t working,? said Corinne N?Daw, Oxfam?s country director in Congo. ?No matter how effective treatment is, if people don?t trust or understand it, they will not use it.?
A mob killed an Ebola health worker and looted a clinic in the village of Vusahiro earlier this month. Between January and early May, there were 42 attacks on health facilities, with 85 workers either injured or killed, according to WHO figures from May 3.
What they don't tell you is people that survive ebola are hunted down and killed in the belief they are either witches or that they still carry the virus(Which in many cases they do).

Not wanting to appear uncaring but we need to pull all aid workers out. Then napalm the entire area. Ebola can be cleansed with fire. Probably be more concern about wiping out the monkeys that carry the disease than the ignorant savages that eat the monkeys and contract the disease and the start spreading it. Bob 0 -

Ebola has killed its second victim in Uganda as health chiefs fear three more have the killer virus after it spread from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
A 50-year-old woman died following the first fatality on June 11 - her five-year-old grandson. Neither of the victims have been named.
Health officials announced a third case has been confirmed, a three-year-old boy who is also the grandson of the second Ebola victim.
The confirmed case, and four members of his family suspected to have the killer virus have now been repatriated to the Congo for treatment.
However, Uganda's health ministry today said three other people are suspected to have Ebola and are currently in isolation. Test results are pending.
The spread to Uganda is a huge blow to local officials, who have desperately tried to contain the virus inside the DRC since an outbreak began last August.
Public gatherings have now been banned in Kasese, a district in western Uganda close to the DRC border, where the woman and the boy will be buried.
More than 2,000 cases and 1,400 deaths of Ebola have been recorded in the north-eastern part of the DRC, two-thirds of which have been fatal.
They have failed to contain it due to attacks on the Ebola Hospitals and workers. Even people who have been cured are sometimes killed because they are thought to be witches.
I read yesterday where there are 90 Congolese who came into the US illegally that were sent to Houston TX and that BP/Immigration were looking for French speaking volunteers to take them in.0 -

not really. bats are a major disease vector for ebola. the bat crap falls on the ground, which has the virus in it, which continues living in the soil. you may know napalm better than I do but I wouldn't guess it would burn the top layer of dirt good enough to sterilize it.brier-49 wrote:Just do it like in the past isolate the area, no one in or out.
