Yeah, I'm still around..................
Hey, been awhile since I checked in, but I'm still kicking and with God's grace, I will be.
Been somewhat of a roller coaster ride last few months.
Had the left carotid artery clean out, right side was 40% but left was 95% clogged up.
Got my first ride in a helicopter, Flight for Life, when I had an ugly reaction to some meds.
ER doctor thought it was heart related so sent me on the whirrly bird ride. Turned out to be meds and
my body not agreeing. Always wanted to do a helicopter for hogs hunt, not on a cart with upteen dozen wires
and monitors hanging on me.
Some days I feel great and others, I just kind of drag through.
Miss hanging out here with you guys, I just ain't been feeling up to much "chatting" for awhile.
The big day is June 6th, yup D-Day, for the removal of the kidney. My regular doctor says once I get that out of the way,
the meds will change, some stopped, some reduced and some, who know's what, but things will get better, both physically
and mentally, then I can get back to a kind of "normal" living.
Some days are a challenge, but I know God has a plan. He humbled me about a month ago when I was talking to a woman who is stage 4.
Made me stop and think that I ain't got it so bad. They tell me that the surgery will clear out the cancer as it is just on the right kidney
and all my tests come back clear for the rest of me.
Anyway, will be in the hospital 2 or 3 days then taking it easy for about 4 weeks before they say I can go back to work. So, I've been picking out books and movies to have handy while I am just laying around. My best friend who passed last year, had just about every John Wayne movie ever put on CD
and his wife gave them to me. I don't think a guy ever gets tired of JW movies.
I will keep you guys updated on how things are going.
Again, thank for all the prayers that have been sent my way, it means a lot to me. Thank you!!!!
Please remember those who gave all so we could have what we have and have a great Memorial Day!!!!!
