    At what cost?
Sniper sends a bullet that does the same job for $1.

    +1000

    What a joke! Useless gimmick.
That thing was born from a government bid some weapons designer got to play with.
Park it next to the M28/M29 Davy Crockett Nuclear Weapon System.

The only problem of course is getting that sniper to agree to being strapped to a drone for 8 hours waiting for the target to appear.

We spend incredible amounts of money trying to limit the number of people we kill. This is basically a lump of steel with brush cutters attached to cut through unarmored vehicles and structures, specifically designed to limit the kill radius to under 10 or so feet.

It is not a scary weapon.

It is a PC weapon and as you point out, an expensive one at that.

Some reports say that it has been used 6 times. That is $ 4.2 million (plus development costs) to not kill a few people that apparently through no fault of their own are in close proximity to a high value terrorist target. IMO, if you are within 20 feet of the leader of a terrorist group, there is a good chance you are in on it.

Every time someone considers cost of weapons and wars today, I wonder if they still remember DEMOCRAT LBJ and his RVN campaign.

$700,000 to take out one guy, if it doesn't miss? Your tax dollars at work from the people who brought you $400 toilet seats.

That's why LBJ stole the funds from what was our Social Security and move the money to general funds so that he could burn it up.
