...geez Sam, you really did get around back in the day...when you were assigned to a super secret unit that wasn?t even on the books. So secret ya aren?t allowed to talk about it to this day. Yeah, I?ve heard that one a time or two as well. Don?t leave out the time honored tale about being one of those on the very last helo out of Saigon!

I have also been assigned to a Unit that did not want much illumination. (Site R/Raven Rock. ANMCC.)

It was Illuminating. Extremely Eye opening.

(Was on the REACT team for that deployment.)

    Extremely impressive Establishment.

    East Coast NORAD.

Come on ChrisS I was flying the damn thing and shoot gooks with my 45 out of the window.

Then I was sent to NASA and trained as an Astronaut. I was the Door Gunner on the space shuttle.

Ken what is a REACT Team? ..........................

Where I was located, (Site R/Raven Rock,) It was reffered to as a ("Rapid Engagement And Contact Team." )

    Hence REACT.

    Yes,.............................. yes.

    That is probably it. ;)

There were about 24+/- of us who were high speed/low drag, assigned to that Team. Proud to have been a member. We were very good at what we did.

Also had a Company of the 572nd MP's, a very capable unit, backing us up. (Not your normal MP unit.)

I am full of myself today!

84 Bravo is a photo guy isn't it? I cannot remember if you take pic's or interpret them.

Yes Sir it was. I was detached from my original posting (was to be 82nd Airborne,) and side tracked to the Site R/Raven Rock establishment. Was initially not very happy about it. Also later, established a 54 Echo. Volunteered for every special school they would send me to. (5 years in.) Should have/wished I had stayed in.

572nd MP's were not wimps. Not your normal MP Unit. (Physical Security at a high Security endeavor.)

Not sure why I was detailed/pulled/asked to the REACT team, after a couple years there. (Except I excelled at every task job/MOS presented to me.) Honor Grad at every School/MOS, NCO Academy, excellent Marksmanship skills, highest ASVAB scores to come out of my State. (TN.) Etc.

Not saying I was at your level Sam06. Just did the job, I was asked to do.

I do remember impressing the CSM of the base when first arriving. "Why do you have a buzz cut soldier?"

I am just coming from Airborne/Jump school SM.

Probably because you were Airborne Qualified and came from the 82nd. The figured you could shoot move and communicate and were a little harder than your average 84b.

5 years in what were you a Buck sgt when you got out?

I am teasing about MP's my neighbor was a MP assigned to the 82nd when lived in Fayettnam. He is a good guy and is now a 1SG 11 years ago he was a SP4. I had a MI guy on the other side of me and a SF Officer across the street. We were tight they knew what I did and I was gone the most but we all looked after each other, cut their grass helped out their old lady it was a good time.

I don?t believe a word any of you all say.
Back in the day I was one of the very few U S Army SEALS but I really cannot talk about that. We didn?t spend a dime on publicity.:lol::lol:
