It is all new. It looks like Woody Harrelson is playing Archie.

I am going to record it tonight out of curiosity. It would be excellent if they made it in exactly the same style as the original.

The original show was fairly politically correct, however. While Archie often came across as a reasonable and caring human being, the tone often seemed designed to show how narrow minded and bigoted the average Nixon supporter voter was.

One would expect Archie to be a Trump supporter and whomever plays meathead to be a poster child for the destroy Trump movement.

I too am recording it, just out of curiosity.
I dont hold too much promise since Jimmy Kimmel is involved...........The original All In The Family was brilliant!
    A great show!

Not expecting anything like the brilliance that Norman Lear had in the original classic.

Archie Bunker is a American icon that should not be messed with.

    Especially some Politially Corrected Version.

No point in watching. Woody Harrelson is enough to spoil it.

I was dissapointed in Harrelson. He seemed to be phoning it in.

Thought Edith was well done, as were George Jefferson, Lionel, and Wanda Sykes(sp?) did a good job as Mrs. Jefferson.

Did not get to the point of a flashback, mainly because while one could believe Carrol O'Conner as Archie, Woody screwed the pooch and brought the whole thing down to a point of being hard to watch.

As I quit watching network TV years ago, I didn't know anything about this remake until I saw this thread yesterday. Hollywood has NEVER remade a show or movie that came anywhere close to being as good as the original. So I was curious as to how badly they screwed this one up. My low expectations were fulfilled.

As soon as I saw that Woody was playing Archie, I knew the show was going to be crap. You guys that watched it, took one for the team. I thank you and admire your bravery. :D

I liked it. Thought he done a fine job. It did prove one thing.. Honky can be used by blacks but don't say the N word to them although they call each other N's

I agree. EXCEPT, The Godfather part 2. As good as The Godfather and some think possibly better!

Those were my exact thoughts. The gal playing Edith sounded a lot like Jean Stapleton. And the guy playing Meathead was a pretty good ringer for Rob Reiner. But Harrelson was bad and so was the gal playing Gloria.

    Never understood this.

Being called a honky has never offended me.

Never had much of a desire to call anyone an N.

No harm, no foul; live and let live. Never any need to go out of one's way to search for an offense.

I loved The Jeffersons back in the day.
Jamie Foxx nailed George, verbally if not physically. Woody Harrelson, meh. I'm sure they tapped Marisa Tomei to play Edith because of her performance in My Cousin Vinny. They blew it completely on Gloria. Should have been Amy Pohler. Bringing Marla Gibbs back as Florence was great. As much as I despise Jimmy Kimmel he did good in having them stick to the original scripts.

I had an All in the Family card game way back when. It was sort of like euchre/spades but with TV characters on the cards.

I have managed to offend a few brothers and sisters over the years by using the phrase "Honky don't play dat." in reference to myself. Not sure if it's the word honky or the appropriation of the cultural expression from the Wayan Brothers tv show or both.

I really don't get all the bashing Woody Harrelson.
