i'm so old
i remember going to vegas and staying at the Bali Hai Motel about a block east of the strip....owned by Howard Hughes.....many of the older casinos are gone now..... gettin there we actually got to drive across Hoover DAM.....looking over the west side down that looooooog slope was scary and going thru the insides was awesome with all the halls and rooms decorated with art deco tile.....Cottonwood Resort downstream from the dam was a gem of green water and trees, grass and plants in a desert of barren rock...Vegas was interesting and we went to 4-5 shows and museums and other points but never had any desire to go back

I'm so old, I remember crank telephones and watches that you had to wind every morning.

still got the old crank phone that grandad had on the dining room wall ...like new....he came here in 1919 and i moved here in 1964.....still had the old pedestal in the basement where the delco electric plant set and a big riveted water tank made by the Horigon Tank company in st louis , Mo.,,,some how a windmill pumped water into this and pushed water to the second story ??? still have the brass plaque off the tank and in the dining room is a brass indian head with flat chain that went down to the basement to regulate the passive coal heat system....i live in history....REA came in 1938 0 -

I also have my Grandparents crank phone they had in their general store. I have it hanging in the entryway of my house.0 -
Bravo..years ago a lady who set out posters for an auction service found me an old phone book from 1943 to go with the wall phone..rather neat with the old ads from our small town.......yepper, dial #48 or just ask the operator for ol Bob in town...i remember as a little kid looking in the door at the gal plugging in and out on the switchboard.......myabe some day i will give ya a ring !!!!! 0 -
I'm so old, when my neighbor lady passed away more than 10 years ago at the age of 100, I find myself reminiscing fine memories of her mother!
