    They are well made guns.

My Grandpa carried one in him pocket all the time. Before that he carried a 25 Colt that I have.

Put some 22 mag snake shot in it and slip it your pocket. All those snakes you have it might come in handy.

For some reason i always wanted these 2 guns.
Congratulations! They are both fine guns to be handed down to a worthy heir!

I've got a rough Hi-Standard 22 mag derringer and an even rougher Trophy. It looks like it's previous owner lett it rattle around in a no so water-tite car trunk or maybe just the back of a truck; but except for the severe pitting it cleaned up ok, as ugly as it is, it still has a nice trigger and still shoots true.

Had a couple over the years. You got a real good deal on it! H-S has been out of business, since the mid 80's. Likely your derringer, is at least 40 years old?

Mine were very ammo sensitive. Only mags that were reliable. Were made by Federal. All the other brands had FTF problems.

Hi Standard has made a lot of good guns over the years. My old Double Nine will be around long after I'm gone.

Doing some work for a widow lady l found a Hi Standard Sentinel 22rf snubby in a drawer.. She said, ''Ugh! Get that thing out of my sight''. Took it to a friends' gun shop and he told me what it was worth. l then deducted it from the lady's bill.. lt seems the revolver belonged to her departed husband.. The gentleman worked for Gulf 0il as a bookkeeper who audited the books of Gulf business locations... Spending most of his nights away from home... After seeing the reaction of his wife to his gun l don't blame him...
Hi Standards are well made. The lettering and serial number on this Sentinel is crisp and flawless. Lots better than l can say for the lettering some Hi Dollar S&W revolvers over the years. Even the PC guns and special edition S&W revolvers look like the serial numbers were stamped with numbers punch set done by little kids
