Attack of the Turkey
I find this article kind of humorous for several reasons. There are 3 Jake's that are terrorizing a neighborhood in Boston. Read below some of ways they are described as "Extremely scary" or "Aggressive", this is the the top predator describing a bird we eat twice a year :shock:
1. This is in Boston, one of the oldest towns in America, where these peoples ancestors would have taken care of these Menacing Turkeys in no time flat.
2. No one has just kicked the crap out of them.
3. I cannot believe a dog hasn't gotten one yet.

Sometimes nature can get a little too close for comfort, and sometimes that?s due to wild turkeys. We saw a tweet Monday about just that from someone who lives in the Moss Hill section of Jamaica Plain.
She complained about aggressive turkeys pecking at people out walking. We checked it out, and found that she?s not alone.
?It?s extremely scary. It?s frightening. If you?re walking they come up extremely, extremely close to you and they come forward like they?re going to bite you,? says Kathy Milmoe who lives in the neighborhood.
There are three wild turkeys that are causing problems for some neighbors in the Moss Hill area. It wasn?t hard to find people who have had a run in with aggressive turkeys.

I agree. Go out with a 3 iron and when the Turkey comes in tee off on his head, grab him by the feet and in the house. I like to make turkey nuggets with wild turkey

I cannot say how aggressive the wild turkeys are but can speak with much experience regarding the domesticated turkey . At 15 to 20 weeks old they can top out at 30 to 40 pounds . Doing service work on equipment inside the confinement house they are raised in require at least two people . One to repair the equipment and one man armed with a pvc pipe 4 to 6 foot long as a weapon to keep them beat off of you . Them bastards are brutal! 0 -

Wild turkeys rarely get that heavy, but they can still put a hurting on you.0 -
have a friend that was attacked by an emu several years ago. he straightened it out with an 870. 0 -
my FIL (RIP) had a turkey for a while we always had fun watching it when family or company stopped in it would attack cars pulling in and then the people getting out of them .
he called it his guard "turkey "

I almost found out how much damage a Turkey could do to a car. The other morning on my way out to an appt. a very good size hen came running out of the woods in front of the car. I stopped in time before hitting it.0 -

Years ago, an old friend of mine shot a 22-24Lb turkey in Northwest Illinois. Near the Mississippi River. It is real hilly and remote country.
He was about a mile or so from his vehicle and hunting alone.
He shoots the turkey, walks up to it and admires his fine shooting, unloads his shotgun, and grabs the bird by the feet. The Old Tom came back alive about the time he swung it over his shoulders! The Turkey spun him around like a top and laid his hand open with a spur, that was good for about 40 stitches! As he lost his balance as the bird was trying to get away he stumbled and broke his ankle! Then the bird laid still. Now he was dead!
My buddy crawled with his pack, shotgun, and turkey back to his car and drove himself to the hospital as a defeated man.......
One week later, while hobbling around in a cast, he stopped for gas and as he opened his car door to get out a gust of wind slammed the corner of the door into his right eye breaking the bone around the eye and detaching his retina along with some other damage!
Old David had a rough couple of weeks!

That is some hard luck. I bet he wished he would have stayed home and got drunk.
I never had a Turkey come back to life but I had a squirrel do it. Just as I picked it up it came to life and ran up arm, over my back and jumped to a tree that was behind me. I am glad I was alone because I screamed like a girl :shock:0 -

I don't think the style of footwear is going to have anything to do with it. The trick, as I see it, would be to let 'em get close and then kick 'em right in the pecker!0 -

I guess you've never seen kickboxing competition. Those guys were a lot more than 30 lbs and you don't see any of them coming out of there with a broken leg. Maybe from being kicked, but not from kicking
