Saturday, there was a follow-up to the Thursday announcement. Begining in the fall of 2020 there will be no diplomas given - just participation certificates.

?I know there were kids well over a 4.0 who were barely in the top 10 percent,?

I think math may have been troublesome to these folks. Or did I miss the new GPA scoring, in which my 4.0 don't mean 4.0?

It doesn't surprise me that much, some people think there is 110% too.

Clearly you don't understand what a 4.0 GPA is. There's no such thing as you put it "well over a 4.0" ... 4.0 is the highest that anybody can get

I wondered about this also. Found out that some school systems award their students extra points for community service type projects. Our local high school has senior project credits. One of my SCTP kids just raised about 10 grand for wounded vets by having a charity sporting clays shoot at the club we belong to. That's the kind of senior project that gets my respect. Bob

No, 4,0 does not mean what 4.0 USED to mean. I graduated college with a 3.8, working full time, raising family, and I was damned proud of it. Today I would be asked to explain why I "only" had a 3.8.

When they start adding to my GRADE POINT AVERAGE for how many people I got to register to vote, meals I served at the Union Mission, or anything that is not a grade point- they are now mixing feel good crap with my academic report card.

Just think how great those last races of the season would be if every team had a perfect score going into the championship race!
