Chevy is suppose to finally introduce the generation 8 mid engine corvette.
Hopefully it will sell better than the the current offering. Sales have crashed by more than 50 percent in the last four years

    my guess people will want to to have a first of the model for bragging rights after that it will settle back down . really just another toy for the big boys /girls
    it will be so far out of reach $$$ for me will not matter any way :(

    Really? Sales of C7 dropped of a little with the anticipated C8's arrival. GM is offering sales rewards for C7 purchases now. The numbers look great to me. The Bowling Green Corvette Assembly plant just announced hiring 400 more employees to make the C8's. Will most likely wait 1 yr before I purchase one so they get the bugs worked out or I buy one someone else buys the first yr and cannot afford. Read the link sales are great..

    never was excited about ownong a corvette......one of my favorite i've had is a buick Reatta ...really nice but not a muscle hustle...my first car a 1953 Ford sunliner convertible was one i wish i had put in a shed......

    There sales have not crashed by 50% as stated... anytime a new model like the long awaited mid engine, folks won't buy until they see it. All those Corvettes on Dealers lots will be sold when the naysayers buy the last of the front engine Corvettes.GM spent a lot of money on the Bowling Green plant and hiring more employees to keep up with the demand. I may or may not like the new Corvette, haven't seen it. If not I will buy a last of the C7 Branding and enjoy it. Maybe the rare ZR1. Anyway the Corvette lives on.. The best bang for the buck Sports Car in the world. BTW..orders are taking for the new one at certain Chevrolet dealers. I will be going up I-65 and stopping into the Corvette Museum soon. :D

    I suspect base model will run around 60-65k . No mention of the Z51 or Z06 most likely for a year or two. Then watch it come out in a ZR-1 . That monster will most likely be in the 150k+ range which is a bargain for its performance. I have owned a lot of Corvettes thru the years. Currently only have 1 . That is about to change.

    Shame.. Well no more 30 Dollar an hour fork truck unskilled labor. UAW's contract years ago stated the new hire would make a base wage. That is what keeps the price of cars and trucks cheaper. In 1972 my Dad was making 11 bucks an hour and came home and said he couldn't believe he was going to make that. Had 25 yrs at GM then. Pretty amazing since he drove a coal truck in Kentucky for about .25 cents an hour before WWII. They will fill those positions at the plant.BTW.. My Mom is still drawing Dad's retirement pension from GM

    Most folks that complain about higher dollar cars..well I have seen they have never owned one or just plain..cannot afford to buy. BTW..the most Corvettes I've owned at one time...11. All in very good condition and a lot of sellers bought and could not keep. Buyers delight. I am always in the market for a good deal on a Corvette.

    What they need to make are Caprice/Impala of the '90s with engine options of the '50/'60s. A full sized sedan, rear wheel driven with modern 427 engines and a stick on the floor. Maybe a blower/super chargers combo as an option? Grampa mobile that moves.
