There has also been some attacks on the Appalachian Trail in Wythe county, Va., just up the road from Abington. The trail is closed in through that county as authorities search for more possible victims.

Just recently caught another "Hiker," on the AT in W. NC. in the Pisgah Natl. Forest, trail name "Sovereign," who had been threatening/confronting other hikers in the Cumberland Gap area with a "20 inch knife." They had been looking for him for a few weeks now.

After watching some of these documentaries about serial killers. It is amazing how normal some of these dudes seem to be. Not suprising how discovering being close to one of these monsters would spook anyone.

Lock your doors and keep your women safe. There are some bizarro folks out there.

With the number of hikers who surely carry I would hope Mr. Knife threat guy would meet an early demise.

If folks knew the number of serial predators roaming this country they'd be terrified. There are far more out there then most would realize or ever even think about. There are many unsolved disappearances and murders of young couples in this area.

Was hoping you would post here Sir.

    I agree.

The Predators amongst us would be astounding, if known.

That is why I/You/We Carry. I do not count on being Prey.

Most don't count on being prey Ken. But I know what you mean, there are some that are better prepared to defend themselves than others

"Most" are completely unprepared to defend themselves in any manner whatsoever.

Those of us who are, will not go down easy.

Yes, .........................perhaps. Maybe he was force fed Gummi Bears by his Owner, and then he went out and randomly attacked Hikers on the AT. Because we all know, Gummi Bears are Bad. I remember reading that here.

It'll go to the County animal shelter. With the time he's facing they'll probably ask him to surrender the dog, if he doesn't they'll have to go before a judge to relinquish ownership, then it'll either be adopted out or euthanized.

My best friend and I used to take our sons out over a weekend, and we would hike different sections of the AT in VA. Each of us had a 1911A1 in the right hand pocket of our packs.
