It does seem a shame to not retrofit or utilize the two sling swivel studs fore and act or the saddle ring on the left of the receiver in the installation process...
And the OD green sling with black hardware is certainly utilitarian and MIL spec I think black material with black (or nickel plated) would make it pop...
And nice thick leather with heavy stitching in brown or black (with black or nickel hardware) would especially impress...
You know numrich arms used to make a bayonet mount for the Winchester 94 - that would be tacticool...
Red dot or holo sight or forward mount long eye relief scout scope would be the bees knees...
Flash suppressor or door breacher / skull crusher muzzle break...
Crimson trace lever laser sight in green...
Williams fiber optic fire sights in hi vis green...
Harris bipod...
An AR style rail or key mod slots worked in somehow...

Zip ties aren?t very strong. I wouldn?t trust them to hold a sling on, but that?s just me. 0 -

Not sure what type of Zip Ties you are using. (?)
The industrial type we use at work, from small to quite large, (4' long 3/8" wide) are no Joke.
Obviously, YVMD.
I would also add, quite Stupid for not utilizing the sling swivel studs, obviously on the Firearm.

as for the zip ties I have used them for a lot more weight than a rifle and never failed0 -

I?m a low voltage electrician monkey. I use every brand of tie wraps out there.
They fail constantly, especially when exposed to sunlight.
They?re fine for short term use, but fail quickly.
But it also depends what you?re using them for. Just to hold things together, not support any weight, they?re fine. Supporting any weight, they fail, unless you use multiple that are way bigger than needed.
Short term fix, for a broken swivel or something would be fine. Long term is just asking for trouble.

Maybe a Boyd's color variegated dark gray / black laminate stock - does anybody make a thumb hole stock for a lever action carbine / short rifle...
And strictly for cosmetic purposes nickel plated cartridge cases would look nice.
