All I saw was bears

I was mowing the lawn and tractor got a flat tire by the edge of woods in front of the house. I went to tell wife to hold dinner for a while so that I could get tire off the tractor.

I was walking back to tractor not paying much attention when I finally noticed 3 black bears about 25 feet away eating food scraps that we throw on the edge of the woods. I high tailed it back to house, wife was like what is your problem, says my eyes were as big as saucers.

Luckily the bears were all yearlings and they were more interested in the scraps then in me.

After I got my in the house I video taped them for a few minutes. After they got what they wanted they just walked back into the woods. Did not see any adult around.

If I can ever figure out how to post picture and videos I will post the video.

    I mow the yard and carry a small .22 ..just in case of a snake or wild dog. I suggest a .44 Mag for you.

    there is an awesome joke about buckets and saucers---and birth control, not sure if i should tell it.

    I might start carrying. Usually the sounds of the tractor will scare them away. I should carry when out in the woods getting firewood but I already am wearing so much gear that a gun gets in the way.

    Doesn't do much good if left on the tractor, my logging winch has 100 ft of cable so may be too far away from tractor if I need the gun.
