    Wow! Imagine how tight the grain is in that wood! The plant where I worked had a 20,000 gallon weak acid tank made of cypress. Built like a giant wooden barrel. When they tore it down, the maintenance superintendent bought the wood.
    His son had it planed into siding and built his house with it. Looked great but you could still smell the vinegar odor of acetic acid.

    With what Al Gore said almost 20 years ago coupled with OAC's doom and gloom for the next ten years there is no way the tree could have survived past 2005. It is has to be flooded out and dead by now.

    They must have big deep roots in that swamp to have survive all the hurricanes than have came through there in the last 2500+ years.

    In 1988 I built this log cabin in central Georgia using cypress logs. Cabin is 28 feet by 36 feet.
    Cypress wood is very nice to work with. And these were some old trees. A typical 14 inch diameter tree would be 115 years old.

    the place I hunted at , I found an old white oak that to the best that I could measure was approximately 30' in approximately . I measured it by extending my arms to the fullest and went around the tree 5 times to where I began
    I asked the owner about contacting the division of forestry and was told NO. I don't want any government ass h--es here
