If nuclear missiles were to hit mrmike's house he would crawl out of the rubble and brush off the dust. He's a tough old bird. :D

I thought only cockroaches survived a nuclear blast. Did you just call Mike a cockroach?

I am still not quite dead despite hopes and predictions...

I feel like curling up in a ball and dying today - the physical recovery therapy folks and the docs and the insurance people wanted an assessment of my progress - if your not making progress you cannot continue with the program...

So Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday I had extended 45 minute sessions followed by a 2.5 mile brisk paced timed walk...

Day one was okay - day two I was dragging and covered in pain sweat - today was day 3 and I am crippled. I can't walk and the vertigo and pain are piquant and persistent.

I am contemplating sawing off my legs above the knees to stop the pain - they can put on shine metal ones that don't hurt...

On the plus side I am tired and have been getting sleep in one to three hour stretches - sleeping a lot of the time...

Today they had three members of staff working with me - to monitor me and to try and keep me from falling down or collapsing and hurting myself further...

Maxed out on pain meds today.

But nobody said it would be easy or fair or fun - I pushed hard to get into this program.

You have "Pushed Hard," this entire Journey Mike.

That is why you have so many of us, who wish you the Best at all times Brother.

    Keep on keeping on, Sir.

Looks like you volunteered or requested the program and probably knew what was coming. I'm impressed and will never complain about my sore neck.

    One.

I freely admit to medically speaking being a cockroach...

While I know my time is up and my ticket punched I should have been dead 2 years ago - and there are no less then 7 "terminal events" in my file / on my chart...

Certainly the amazing work of a team of doctors and surgeons and nurses and advanced medical equipment have contributed to me no expiring yet - but the docs and the NIH are quite frankly puzzled with my not having died - as per their statements it's medically impossible - I have been called a white whale and a unicorn in notes by docs in my file.

And yes I knew doing this type of physical recovery therapy would be difficult and painful - I have gotten used to high level intractable persistent pain and have learned to cope with it - even with less medication - but being laid up and immobile and in a fog of pain fugue state for days is tough...

What else am I supposed to do - roll over and die or take so much pain meds that I am catatonic...
