Kriss Vector 45 acp value?
My nephew [raised by my rabidly anti-gun sister] thinks this .45 carbine is a steal at the opening bid price.

I'm pretty sure I found at least 3 examples of the same gun without the red dot scope that brought less than $1,000
I declined to offer the opening bid immediately [he doesn't seem to grasp that we can bid up until close of the auction]

Well you can check prices and see. I would guess $1100.00 is fair. We used a couple of them for rental guns and they run great. They use Glock model 21 mags which are 13 round but the Kris?s extensions increase the capacity to 27 if I remember correctly. 0 -
I personally bought the same gun around 5 years ago, minus the red dot. At the time I think dealer cost was around $1400. With that Burris red dot I think the price is fair retail for used, definitely not a steal but decent price. 0 -
Rarely will you catch me getting involved in valuating any firearm on this website. There are always too many variables which can alter the value and allow for a different interpretation of that value.
The Burris red dot XTS-135 has been discontinued by the manufacturer since it was a onetime release. The public price I found was about $250.00 new.
The owner is starting the auction at what is probably the true value of this combination given it's a used firearm. There is no statement of number of shots and only a barely plausible statement of barrel condition which I wouldn't give any credence to at all. The only way I would bid on this is with an iron clad 3-day, non-firing inspection. Since it's still sitting with a little more than one day remaining, there are obviously more folks who agree.
As excited as your nephew is to want something so extremely tactical and aggressive looking, I suggest that he look around to see what else might come to light.
Reality is that I once wanted a couple of these to play with. After examining the size, weight and performance of the 16" barrel, I found that my .45acp Commander sidearm would work as well, be lighter to carry, allows for carrying more ammunition. I never bought one.

I'd rather have a nice Marlin Camp 9, (which I own.) Upgraded Blackjack Buffer, recoil spring, 400 lumen barrel mounted light, extended 31 round magazines, Bushnell MP Trophy red/green T-dot scope.
A Marlin Camp 45, would be nice also. (They are going for big bucks.) My nice classic firearm, is appreciating in value every year. The Kriss Vector? (No more effective.) Doubt it is appreciating in value.0 -
He wants to make it SBR and I told him, just get a 1911. He's also under the impression that the folding stock is no longer available for this gun.
If that's the case, I'd get all the AR10 parts together and build a .458 Socom or a .450 Bushmaster. This way you get to control the length of the barrel, the folding stock and have a large selection of additional parts to play with. Probably could build it for the same dollars or even slightly less depending on the suppliers used.
You can also build an AR15 for the .45ACP for a lot less money. Brownells sells a folding stock adapter which allows you to choose a stock which suits you or even change it when you want to.
Better alternatives in my opinion...

Still stand on/by the Marlin Camp 9/45 alternative. Just as good, if not better. Appreciating in value.
