I sent rain for today's giddy up racing. Read the favorite for the Ken Derby couldn't race. 0 -
My 2nd son's mother & father in law are big into traveling to the derby each year. She is into wearing some off the wall outfits and some really extreme hats for the too do. A couple of years ago she made all the papers and magazines along with the national news with one of her flamingo derby hats. 0 -
Going with Max Security and Win, Win Win- Roadster. 0 -
In Honor Of The Kentucky Derby:
A young pastor was sitting in a restaurant eating lunch. He opened a letter he?d just received that morning from his mom. As he opened it a twenty-dollar bill fell out. He thought to himself, Thanks, Mom, I sure needed that right now.
As he finished his feel, he noticed a beggar outside on the sidewalk leaning against the light post. Thinking that the poor man could probably use the twenty dollars more than he, he crossed out the names on the envelope and wrote across the top in large letters, PERSEVERE! So as not to make a scene, he put the envelope under his arm and dropped it as he walked past the man. The man picked it up and read the message and smiled.
The next day, as the pastor enjoyed his meal, the same man tapped him on the shoulder and handed him a big wad of bills. Surprised, the young pastor asked him what that was for. The man replied, ?This is your half of the winnings. Persevere came in first in the fourth race at the track yesterday and paid fifty to one.?0 -
Should be a good race in the mud
Unlike nascar wimps, they will run, rain or shine and the fans show up too. That's probable why Earnhardt is an announcer today LOL.0 -
One day a yr a bunch of drunken kentucky folks get together. Been there a few times and won some money. However the kentucky derby is just another horse race . It pays no more money than any other horse race. I won my money on the other races. Did not ever bet the derby. 0 -
Inquiry. This could be interesting. 0 -
Hilarious.. rubbing is racing...Well in NASCAR it is... Not in horse racing..Winner got disqualified and.. a 65-1 Horse won. Pretty good bet that horse will not win the triple crown. 0 -
My horse is just about to cross the finish line.
This is why I don't gamble.0 -
     Well my twenty across on Security and my tri bet just got washed down,,, 0 -

Kind of like saying the 188 mph Yugo here is equivalent to an Bugatti.0 -

The Kentuky Derby decision was not a good one. It was a rough and tumble race on a wet and sloppy track, actually, a beautiful thing to watch. Only in these days of political correctness could such an overturn occur. The best horse did NOT win the Kentucky Derby - not even close!
Trump got this wrong. Maybe he should have watched it. I saw the race, I saw the replays, and while Trump may be correct that the best horse didn't win, he is referring to the wrong horse.
The way I saw it, as they were rounding out for the final stretch, War of Will was coming fast and hard on the outside, when Maximum Security blocked him and darn near caused a wreck. Like the cheap trick crap Lagano would pull in nascar.
Well, Horse Racing goes back way farther and they put a stop to that kind of behavior loud and clear yesterday. All the other horses just happened to be able to run the race just fine, so I don't buy the excuse given by the illegal alien on Maximum Security. "He was scared" sounds like that horse needs to be made into glue.
War of Will had the momentum and the finish was looking like a 4 horse finish to me. I hope they bar that jockey from racing. After you trip the competition, it's hard for them to regroup and gain their momentum back.0 -
Yes, the process starts with a jockey objecting but the inquiry by the stewards is what determines if any changes will be made. Actually, one other KY Derby "winner" was disqualified years ago because he failed his after-the-race drug test. 0 -
I had a $10 bet on the superfecta, {pick the 4 horses in order], now I got to go all the way up to Kinturky to pick up my $ 510,243 winnings.
Paid 51,000 to one !!!
The long shot winner paid 65 to 1 on a $2 bet.
There are alot of big winners out there!!!0 -

I don't bet across the board. Those are sucker bets. Your $2 is spread out among the 3 places. You don't get the payout like you posted.
65 to 1 is good enuff for me....$2 gets me 132.
Win: Country House $132.40
Place: Country House $56.60, Code of Honor $15.20
Show: Country House $24.60, Code of Honor $9.80, Tacitus $5.60
$2 Exacta: 20-13, $3,009.60
$1 Trifecta: 20-13-8, $11,475.30
$1 Superfecta: 20-13-8-5, $51,400.100 -
My wife and I used to enjoy going to the horse races at Latonia Racetrack in Covington, KY and Churchill Downs back in the 80s. We never went to the Ky Derby though.
Good thing my wife was betting too because she always won and I always lost. Just about every race horse I've ever bet on turned out to be a Clydesdale.
The only races I ever won at was the dog races in Florida.0 -
$1 Superfecta: 20-13-8-5, $51,400.10
You just know someone had to have a lousey $10 bet on the superfecta.
That's over a $ 514,000 win!! A half million for 10 bucks.
Bet his wife don't bittcch about him going to the track now !!!0
