never knew doves were agressive...........
was sitting on the front porch drinking coffee, have small red maple maybe 15ft tall in front of porch. There have been robins nesting in it the last few years, this morning I noticed a couple flying in and out must be building a new nest, less 10 minutes later a dove followed one of the robins into the tree, the leaves are so thick couldn't see real good but either the doves, or the robins must be building their nests to close to each other or trying to take over the others nest. they have been chasing each other in and out of the tree for over the last half hour, with the doves doing most of the chasing. I never knew mourning doves were agressive, we have em all over as I can hear them every evening cooing to each other, just never saw then go after another bird, let alone a robin.

The doves are the only bird that the blue jays will allow around our feeders. 0 -
Eurasian or Morning Doves?
Eurasians are bigger and more aggressive.0 -
I have a pair that nest the same spot every year, on a large branch on my Walnut tree, right over the hand pump in my garden. The first couple of screeches out of the pump, they drop a load and fly off. I've learned to clap my hands loudly before I get to the pump.

Doves have been the symbol of peace since one brought an olive branch to Noah on the Ark. Ironically they are very aggressive and violent, especially the males where they have a nest. 0 -
