Vasoline

Any one use this
other than the obvious ;) ---. I have a container that I use for battery connections, small bearings that need to be placed into bearing housings, etc.

Prep for the end,---- cotton swab wiped in Vasoline ----great fire starter.

Have lately been rubbing my hands then LIGHTLY rubbing my welder connections that are plugged into the outlet. Not enough to cause an arc, just enough to lube.

Anyone else have a use. Be nice!

    yep at times when you need that 3rd hand to hold a screw/bolt in place till you can get wrench/screwdriver on it to tighten it up, a big glob of vasoline will usually hold it in place till you can get wrench/screwdriver on it.......

    It removes tar and bug spats. Spread on lightly and left to sit for a bit and it removes glued labels. Fishing reel grease. The tiniest dab on your fingers is a good hair conditioner. Calms dry, itchy skin.

    If you are into BPCR, combined with beeswax, it makes great cookies and bullet lube. It is good with felt wads.

    I apply vasoline to the bottom rubber seals of my garage doors in the winter time. Without it, the doors will sometimes freeze shut.

    Never insert Vasoline (or brake grease) inside a body orifice.

    On a new motor or just in an empty or new oil pump, packing it with vaseline will help the oil pump prime super quick.

    1001 uses. According to the interweb. You can mix it with dryer lint for home made sticky firestaters...

    Lubricates o-rings.
    I use it on the water filter o-rings where blue grease seems....well, inappropriate.

    Food grade silicone is a far better product for that job.

    The Vasaline was handy. I found it on my parents' night stand.     ;)

    NEVER apply petroleum jelly to anything made of real (latex) rubber. Petroleum products dissolve real rubber, and will cause it to fail.

    Bluntly- some of you may be here because condoms used to be made of latex rubber. And your folks kept a jar of Vaseline in the bedside table. KY Jelly, OTOH, is water based. Does not damage latex. :o

    I knew a gal once who kept a small jar of vasoline with her at all times !

    Seems it helped some things fit into some places : Just like she really liked !!!
