    'Clap like you are at a strip club' for Mike Pence. An interesting choice of words considering how our Vice President views things.

    OTOH, I question whether a person who did not even know what the nuclear triad was 3 years ago is really the right person to be making decisions as to whether we keep an obsolescent asset vs. investing the $ 3.4 billion in more current technology.

    To be fair, however, Trump only stated that he would listen to his generals.

    He never mentioned anything about listening to his admirals.

    My issue with the article is about how his remarks were inappropriate and were being looked into by the ship's leadership.

    I agree, WT.

    The CMS no doubt enlisted long before skirts were allowed on combatants, and it wouldn't have been an issue then. Probably doesn't help that one of them is the Truman's Public Information Officer.

    The USN is a far different thing than it was when I signed on 40 years ago, and while the tools are vastly improved, I tend to wonder a bit about culture. It may be possible to develop a warrior mentality while protecting peoples' feelings, but it has to be quite a challenge.
