Survived another one....
tax season that is. I can tell that I am getting older and cannot keep going like the Energizer Bunny 14-16 hours a day for five days and then 10-12 on Saturday and 8-10 on Sunday. Except for the first weekend of January, I only was out of the office one other day (grandson's birthday) until April 15. Mentally wore out. At 56 yrs old, it is time for me to make some adjustments and slow down. My dad always told us that "if you ain't busy, then you are wasting time." I have kinda followed that thought, but my thoughts are now changing to "slow down and enjoy your life."
I was one of those who could not log in under the new forums (old email address on registration apparently) and the last part of this last week, Gunbroker support took care of me on the logins.

Glad to see you back. I imagine the changes to the tax code kept you very busy. 0 -
GB came though well on the transition support I thought. We are certainly getting more than our moneys worth here.
I suppose there are different philosophies on living, one says WORK, and I spent a 40 year career being a government employee who put in 10-11 hour days, considering the day was over when the work was done enough to hold until morning, then I read journal articles and books on my specialty for another hour.
Ten I retired and devoted more time to learning about guns and other things unrelated to my career, history and travel have been a big part of life the past 10 years. I think stop and smell the roses is good advice, otherwise you are a slave and then you die. No one else deserves to benefit from your life and efforts more than you and your family. Give that some more time.0 -
When I was a teenager back in the 60s, already with a family, I worked 2 jobs. 8 hours on my day job on an assembly line and 6 hours loading trucks at Mason Dixon Freight Lines on my night job. When I got home at 2:00 AM and took a bath and went to bed I could feel my heart beat making the bed move. Then I was back up at 6:30 AM in order to get to my day job at 7:00 AM where it started all over again.
I did that for several years before I found a job paying enough where I could just work one job.
All work and no play makes Jack a dead boy!0 -
For the first 54 years of my life, I had a big "S" on my chest and a cape under my shirt.
Then the heart attack.
Had to slow down.
Funny thing is, after I adjusted to calm, slow living, my blood pressure came down, less
pills needed, better attitude, some even called me "nice". :shock:0 -
Glad you made it through. Sounds like a rough business. 0
