Supreme Court to Hear Census Citizenship Question Case on Tuesday

The Enumeration Clause in Article I of the Constitution requires a nationwide census be taken every ten years. The Census Act empowers the head of the Commerce Department to determine what the census will ask, aside from the number of persons residing at every address in the nation. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross decided for the Trump administration that the census will ask each person in the nation next year if that person is a citizen of the United States.
What decision will the Supreme court make?

My guess is they will uphold the right of the U.S. to put the "questionable, question" on the Ballot ,,,.
Are you a U.S. citizen {YES} or {NO} although there would need to be a place to say how many are in the family or a check box for each person or ???

See, even something simple is not so simple when 30+ Million illegals are in the U.S.

    The Court will rule in favor of the Trump Administration. Individual census records are sealed for 72 years. Federal law restricts access to decennial census records to all but the individual named on the record or their legal heir, so there is nothing to gain or lose by answering the question.

    The Current Population Survey that is conducted monthly with a representative sample of the population asks country of birth and those who say anywhere but the US are then asked if they are citizens and how long they've been in the US.

    If the "citizenship question" is not included on the form, I will refuse to answer ANY questions.
    Several years ago I was sent a multi-page questionnaire asking a lot of questions that were none of anyone's business but my own. I threw it away. Then got another one telling me I had to complete it or face some kind of penalty/fine. I wrote KMA with a red marker and sent it back. I never heard from them again. If I get another one, I will write "No Habla Ingles" on it and return it.

    Thought all the questions were tabulated, if not, how is the data from the form compiled?

    Reasonable to believe there is NO MASTER DATA BASE linking individuals answers with his name.

    We'd gain at a minimum how many answered they WERE NOT A CITIZEN and used for House apportionment.

    Because the individual responses are sealed for 72 years the person responding has nothing to gain or lose by answering the question. If you are 18 years old when you respond to the census, none of your personal data will be publically released until you turn 90. Most people are dead by then, so any privacy issue they might have will hardly be of concern. This the point of sealing the personal data for seven decades: you can answer any and all questions truthfully because your responses will not be made public within your lifetime.

    Unless the "Census Taker," requires Identification of some form or another, how would they determine whether the "Are You a Citizen," or not, is answered Truthfully?

    I think the electoral votes are figured on population. If you were and illegal alien and were asked if you were a citizen on the census form, you would be less likely to fill it out, but if your not asked chances are good they will fill it out. Because they were told that it will benefit them in the long run. This is one way of voting and not knowing that you even voted. Those States that keep their population high, will keep their vote count high in the electoral college.

    I've never done a census. Is that like the tv rating polls? I got one of them along time ago.

    But yeah, it will clear the Supremes, it is nothing new and was removed in 2010, and brought back for this one. And yes, it is fair to know if you are a citizen or not.

    If you want to see the moron AOC go after an old fart who should have stepped down long ago, it's actually pretty comical on both sides, and they are making the laws, policies and decisions for our nation.

    I'd hope that eventually, someday, that they'd use the results to change government funding to reflect allocating monies by the number of US citizens. States that allow / harbor illegals would then get fewer dollars and hopefully be less sanctuary friendly.

    It won't happen - but one can hope.
