surgery pics
they took out my gall bladder because of gall stones. laparoscopic surgery. (minimally invasive)
took a magic marker and demarcated the rib cage, sternum, midline and a lateral bisection.

the lateral line extended all the way down the side.
they cut another hole where it met the line from the rib cage.
and another hole all the way to the side.

one of these holes they stuck in a tube and inflated the abdomen with CO2 so they have room to work.
other holes they stuck in the camera and surgical instruments.
still bloated with gas remaining from the surgery. took a few days for it to go away.
they said the gall bladder and stones came out the belly button. it was surprisingly small.
I asked them why don't they just take it out of one of the other holes instead of making another one so far away.
they didn't have an answer for me.

I know they have the capability to stitch the wounds on the inside with self-dissolving sutures, but they didn't put any stitches on the outside. instead they used some sort of transparent glue.

pretty sure it's not Wood Glue 0 -
They didn't play connect the dots on me when they took mine out, no marker used at all.
My gall bladder was twice the size as normal and she had to extend the incision to get it out, also said it was the first one that felt like a bean bag.0 -
Looks like a screen shot from Atari?s Space Invaders. 0 -
the most relevant thing I got from that article was that the hole in the belly button is used for the camera, and the other holes are all for instruments the doctor manipulates while standing on your right side. 0
