I'm not really crazy about a lot of traditional holiday meals....turkey, ham & the like.
One year I convinced my wife we should have mexican for Thanksgiving.
That went over like a turd in the punchbowl.
You'd have thought I invited her whole family over & fed them dry dogfood.

My mom served everyone dressing with oysters in it one Thanksgiving. I think there was a plan to do bodily harm to her for a minute there. I liked it!!! I tried to get her to fix it again, but she made me hush and darted around looking out the nearby windows like we were suddenly in danger.....so I never asked again.

i made Elk chili last night, and let it brew all night long in the slow cooker. it became both lunch and supper... remainder i put up containers to freeze, and give to my son[teacher] for his lunch at school.

    It's not what you eat...
It"s who you eat it with.

Some of the best, most memorable meals, Holidays and otherwise, were just a simple plate of pasta, with the people I loved.

I've been SUPER busy, so I let Easter sneak up on me and didn't plan any food for the people coming to my house. So......I woke up this morning and made a huge pot of chili. It was what we had the "fixins" for that would feed 7-10 people. I paired it with rice because that is what they do in Hawaii and it really works well together. So, I was up this morning browning ground beef and starting the stewed tomatoes with all the other stuff for our Easter afternoon meal.

I did have a few pictures to add to auctions that start tonight, but altogether it has been a lazy day for me here.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter. Every day I get to have with that grand-baby of ours is just the best!

    Happy Easter!

    I LOVE chili, everytime/anytime. :D

    Right next to Taco's.
