This "Vintage China Military Rifle" looks rather like a pellet gun to me. It's part of a local upcoming estate auction.
They also list a "Vintage Compeer Shotgun" that's likely an old Damascus barrel gun.

IMO, some do it because they know about the items, others are more cunning and do it for the obvious reasons. I have been called on a few times locally to describe firearms because that certain Colonel didn't know about firearms. 0 -

Well, you are correct about the top one- Single shot pellet rifle- Bottom to me is a wallhanger from the lone pic. imo0 -
