Is the correct pronunciation of "Lima" "Lee-ma", or "Lie-ma"?

I live about 35 miles ( =/- ) from Lima pronounce it just like the Lima bean
they have a gun show first weekend each month thru the fall into spring at the fairgrounds also
I have heard news reporters , from out of state call it many things when talking about the refineries or the tank plant
