Shared a buffalo burger
Back in late February with GBGD's very own
Rocky Raab.
Wife, Grandson and adopted Grandson got to meet him also.
Am I bragging, hell yes. First member I got to meet in person and it was very much a privilege to meet such man, combat aviation veteran and all around genuine good guy.
His books are of the type that you read and will pick back up in 6 months or a year and read again and still enjoy.
I hope to get the opportunity to break bread with him again somewhere down the road.
I did watch close as we left the table, that he didn't pinch the waitresses tip

Rocky is a fantastic gentleman, and he doesn't live that far from me. He only lives about 60 miles away, and I keep on telling myself the next time I get up to his neck of the woods I'm going to stop in I'm take him and his lovely lady out to lunch or dinner. But for some reason I never get up to his neck of the woods like I used to...
I guess I'm just going to have to take a nice little Sunday Drive, (if you want to call driving through Salt Lake nice). And go visit the gentleman0 -
Rocky, consider yourself warned. 0 -
Point noted. Thanks, guys. I'm blushing.
It was a pleasure for me, too, dp. I don't get to enjoy "cowboys" as much as I used to around here, and those lads were refreshing in the "few words spoken" cowboy kind of way. Next time you rodeo, we'll redo.0 -
Mule did you get my message? That was the first time I have responded to an IM on here. I am not sure it when though. 0 -

But as soon as they got in the car they began googling those nuggets of information you told them and were like a couple magpies talking about you. They talked about how it was pretty cool to meet you and told several of their close cowboy buddies back at the rodeo also.
Maybe we can lunch again when the Angela's are on.
