In general, a citizen's arrest is legal if the arrested person is suspected of committing a felony.

IIRC, illegal entry into the US is a misdemeanor.

If Border Patrol does not have the personnel to patrol the border, one would think they would appreciate the help, and it appears the in this case no harm was done rather a very helpful intervention was performed.

Apparently the governor of NM prefers the political approach over the practical.

They would have to be a citizen, they are not, they are invaders and if DJT would grow a pair and declare the invasion as it is, we could shoot them.

Break an arm or leg and toss em over the fence would work for me.

As far as I'm concerned, ILLEGALS don't have ANY rights. No better than a 4 legged varmint trying to sneak some cat food from my barn--even worse cause the 4 legged varmints don't know that what they're doing is wrong.

news this morn is FIB arrested the miliia leader who detained illegals.....seems a prior felony comes into play...OK...BUT...the BIG hoopla is that an AMERICAN CITIZEN did something to PROTECT AMERICA while all the law enforcement agencies concerned with the border are FAILING in their DUTY....aside from his former legal issues the big media play makes it offensive and criminal to do something FOR AMERICA .......how soon will other countries flags be flying over our border states and espanol declared an official language for public use .....when will the president of messico demand reparations from the southwest USA for running their citizens and army back home many years ago

just turned tv on and caught a flash of the militia member and the personification going on.....sounded like he was the most evil and dangerous radical white supremist in the world.....he was going to asassinate obummer and klinton and listed a bunch of junk guns and i immediately was overwhelmed by the impression of this being made into WACO 2 and he is Koresh 2 ?????????? the screams of how one in AMERICA (whether he has a criminal history or is a saint ) CANNOT treat illegals as anything but visiting royalty ????? reiterate that i was in morning fog getting morning duties together so will have to follow this today to get it on our media in open eyes

also....the US citizen militia detained over 300 illegals who had crossed into the USA territory..and handed them over to the US border patrol......this militia is composed of New Mexico citizens, ex cops, and veterans....and our own BELOVED ACLU declared that USA citizens CANNOT illegally stop, detain, or arrest ILLEGAL ALIENS that have crossed ILLEGALLY onto USA soil.......??????????? there should be tens of thousands of AMERICAN CITIZENS massed along the US/messico border physically rebuffing illegal entry when it is proven beyond a doubt that border patrol and immigration agencies are a continuous failure to protect the integrity of our borders and the value of citizenship.....that failure is shared by decades of failure in congress and border law enforcement

Why would the NRA weigh in on this at all?
Are they adding immigration enforcement or reform to their plate of causes?

I thought they were the hunting organization?

Why not? Free publicity for standing up and backing the US citizens and the constitution.

But alas, you are correct, why would the NRA care? That is their position and they're sticking to it.

NRA is busy trying to figure out how LaPierre could spend that much money on new underwear and pay that much for a plane flight...the NRA , their agenda and failure to work for their former stated goals will sink in shame...and NM current governor is a staunch democrat and like Monty Hall hollers "come on down" and win a prize from AMERICA
