Frogs/Peepers are Out -
Have apprx. a 2 acre mountain pond, behind the house.
First night thus far, frogs/ peepers are out in abundance.
Sounds like living in the swamp. (Summers first introduction.) I Love it.
Stocked with Bluegill, and apprx. 350 Brown and Rainbow Trout. (Spring fed pond.)
Throw a line in, guaranteed to pull something out. (Nice resource.)
Better now Hedog?

Just for the record, peepers are frogs. Though not all frogs are peepers.

Takes a lot of peepers to fill a frying pan though. Keep throwing those lines.

Not bad, (but broiled/baked) Rainbow/Brown Trout, Mo Betta.
I am not opposed to deep fried frog legs either.0 -
Loves me some fish and frog legs,,,and fried mashed potato patties with corn in it. 0 -
I think they're all still frozen in the mud here. 0 -

Never heard of that Joe, though I don't eat mashed potatoes. We do make corn bread with corn and green chile in it.

Bullfrogs booming, smaller frogs "peeping." Sitting on the back deck with the dog. Back deck is perhaps 4 stories over the pond. Ground falls away behind the house to the pond. Deck sits at 2nd story level.
Good stuff.0 -

Thanks Brother.
I like it.0 -
Sorry Ken, I think bluegill beats trout for flavor every day of the week. I like catching trout, but the liver flavor I can do with out. Small browns or cutthroats are the best of the trout. 0 -

Fried, I'd agree. Bluegill rocks.
Trout, baked with thin sliced lemon inside and covering the outside, placed over a bed of fresh Asparagus, while cooking. Some Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Excellent. (What is this "Liver," flavor you speak of?0 -
What are these "bluegill" things of which you speak?

Dayum, son! You catch all those? 0 -

If you want to get rid of the liver flavor of trout, wrap them in bacon before you cook them. The bacon removes the liver flavor0
