Alternative to flowers for a man

Someone close just got home following a surgery.

What can I send as an alternative to flowers for a get well soon.

Im thinking a knife?

    If he's home already from surgery, Food. Comfort food is always welcomed when you just get out of the hospital. Especially if he lives alone oh, does he have somebody to take care of him, it will help them spend more time at taking care of him rather than cooking

    Have you or your wife make up a nice little casserole and take over to him

    Once, a woman I know sent me flowers for my birthday .......... I thought it was kind of nice seeing as how men never get flowers.

    That all depends on the person. That's like asking what kind of car to buy somebody without me knowing what kind of car they like. You know what type of person he is so you should know what you should get him.

    Oh and by the way there's nothing that would be inappropriate as long as the person likes it
