If you live in Dallas County, and have no conscience, you will never have to buy groceries and other daily necessities again!

As long as you keep the total under $750 per occurrence, and stick to personal necessities, and don't intend to re-sell any of it, you are home free!

Let's see how this ends up. LOL @ District Attorney John Creuzot and all the ignoramuses that elected him! BTW, he is a Democrat.

    I fail to see how a theft is not for financial gain.

    You steal your food, clothes and other necessities and use the money saved for something else.

    This DA seems to be a couple of cases short of a docket.

    That's how it will wind up. IF the police are called, and IF the police even respond, the responding officers will look at the circumstances of the case, and if it is non-prosecutable, they will not make an arrest. Why bother?

    I ran into a similar situation at Walmart. An elderly handicapped man stole some grocery items. Walmart called. I responded. Manager says he wants to report a theft, but he can't prosecute. He said Walmart policy is to not prosecute small thefts if the suspect is over 65 years of age. Since Walmart would not prosecute, I refused to make paper on it. I told the manager that I may have to start a new hobby in a few years. I haven't done it yet though. :D

    DEMOCRAT dogma in effect. Not much different than what they are doing on in Baltimore, Chicago, Philly and other DEMOCRAT controlled cities. No wonder DEMOCRATs want to grant the most egregious and evil criminals in the world the right to vote.

    BTW, these are same DEMOCRATs want to strip law abiding citizens of their right to protect themselves and their property with firearms while at the same time fail to enforce their own guns laws when a criminals commits violent acts with firearms.

    I'd like to see this DA, if he had a real job and not a government bureaucrat, if he had a real job, like he had inherited a little grocery store that his mother and father had built up over 40 years, I would like to see what his attitude would be if someone shoplifted a hundred dollars worth of steaks.

    Here I thought when confronting thieves in Dallas it was A-Okay to shoot them. You sure this is Dallas, Texas and not Dallas, Oregon?

    I'm not familiar with Texas laws, but I hope that they have the castle doctrine law. If the law won't prosecute... that might deter criminals, otherwise nobody will be safe.. Just saying
