    :(:(:(:( ,,, I also miss cousin Ernies farm in Washington,Mo. (from when I was a kid)

    That bridge was a nailbiter when I was first learning to drive. It needed replaced, but the new one is plainer.

    I remember the twin bridges of route 66 at Washington,in the 60's

    Joe, I don't believe Rt. 66 ever went through Washington, and I sure don't remember twin bridges. Seems like it would have been easier to disassemble it standing than from the water.

    I DON"T miss driving the race car trailers over the old Ghoatels [sp?] Bridge to get to the New Jersey race tracks.
    2 lanes each way....7 foot wide lanes....

    My car trailer was 7' 8" wide.

    66/I44 right before exit to go into washington.

    Ah, as Savage posted those are over the Bourbesse River on I-44, formerly Rt. 66. This bridge is just N of downtown Washington over the Missouri.
