I believe I have one of those variants with a tennite / plastic stock but it's a 12 gauge...
Considered swapping the existing stock set for wooden furniture but it appeared to be cost prohibitive.

It's very nice. I'm typically very conservative when I rate condition, and for a 65 year old or so gun, it's Really nice!
The case hardening is stellar! And it locks up real tight!
It's about the nicest 311A 20 gauge I've ever seen. I certainly see a lot of 12's. But not too many 20's.
I'll probably be sorry I sold it one day, but my magic closet is pretty full!!

My bid was topped. (Not surprising, given what I paid for the last one of these I purchased.)
It's gonna approach/top $600-650 Boys.
My prediction.
If only this was in a month or two. [My Jeep is paid off next month.] (Almost an extra $500 available each month.) I'd be all over this.0 -

If there are no markings, then the barrels follow this standard:
standard chokes by the barrel length, 12 Ga. 24 & 26 inch IC&M, 28 & 30 inch M&F,---- 20 Ga. 24 & 26 inch IC&M, 28 inch M&F,
16 Ga. 26 inch IC&M, 28 inch M&F,
410 bore 26 inch F&F /0 -
The Savage/Stevens 311 back in the day (50 years or so ago) was considered a utility grade shotgun. Today folks realize that they were actually a well-made firearm and many built back then are still giving good service. That's a nice shotgun that you're selling. 0 -

I believe it's better than most of the "junk" being produced today.

As a point of order to further clarify for those whom may have a passing interest...
My gun is a Wards Triumph Model SD52A with a tenite stock and select double triggers with deluxe pressed check wring and a pistol grip cap estuchion
Selected forged steel barrels 12 gauge with 2 3/4" chambers
Which would appear to essentially be a 311 cloned or private labeled department store / hardware store gun...

A nice old gun for sure.
However, a 20 gauge holds a substantial premium over a 12 gauge in any arena at any time.
The factory wood stocks and the Savage Steven's name also hold a substantial premium over any "catalog gun" name.
Check out a Browning Superposed 12 gauge against an equal one in 20 gauge!! Wow! Don't bother looking at 410 or 28 gauge! Big difference.......$$$$$

Oh I don't ascribe any great monetary value or great rarity to it...
It's quirky and odd but somewhat pedestrian and plebeian - though it's the only Wards branded gun I own and it is somewhat interesting from a historical perspective...
However I like it.
