I like the vintage scopes on vintage guns. I've bought a few old Redfield and Weavers for pre 64 Model 70's, etc.
Even for older .22 rim fires.0 -
I had the same scope on a marlin 336 in 35Rem that took a deer every year for 16 years.
The wide view was a nice gimmick when it first came out.

Right: (some people get wild with money thinking they are great, but I've bought the 2x7 and 3x9's widefields and couple of the TR type Redfields for $20 to $30. I've had some that would fog up. I really do not trust them for use on a very good accurate hunting rifle for everyday use. They were good in their days when new but them times are past.
The old Redfileds are kinda in same category as: kinda like being married to a real pretty woman that has a headache all time. Only nice to look at.0 -

On year 16 of me using that scope, I raised my gun to scope out a deer walking under the pine trees near my stand. It was totally fogged over. Took it off the next am and hunted with my 742 remmy in the open fields, where the 336 marlin was not enuff gun.
Almost ruined the weekend, if I didn't have other guns to use.0 -

That is an old scope. Had one on a 742 Remington back in 1974 0 -
I have one I bought in 1978 for $125.00. It served me well for nearly 40 years. After a dunk in the river, it fogged. I replaced it with a Leupold VX3 2.5-8.
Imho, $150.00 is too much for it.0
