Make a list of everybody that is stockpiling supplies.
Then when you need something, go over to their place, put a bullet in their forehead, and take what you need. :shock:0 -
My plan is to just loot the unprepared. 0 -

Tacos do not last long enough, in order to be buried around here.
6 last night, 6 more perhaps this evening, or a work lunch tommorrow. (I'm Torn.) Oh what to do?
I miss Gunnut505, not only was he a friend, but he was my connection to all sorts of Heat related culinary delights. Miss you Brother. You are thought of often.0 -

Actually, that's not a good plan. The unprepared will not only not have what they need, but won't have what you need either.

There's all kinds of idiots out there that have more food and stuff than they know what to do with and no plan to defend it.0 -
I used to tell that to my Idiot, unprepared Neighbors up in NY/NJ. (Right on the line.) [I could throw a rock from my backyard across the line.] Extreme NW NJ. West Milford/Greenwood Lake. 1947 Chestnut Log Cabin, AT behind the house, huge lake out front. (22 miles around shoreline.)
When asked - "What do you plan on doing?"
"I'm pretty much going to go door to door, and take what I need."
Obviously, would never do that, but it opened a few eyes. I would ask, "What are you going to do in order to protect/defend what you have? You have no Firearms, right? "0 -

I am very disappointed.
After two replies bpost has the best solution to my thinking.
Salt is something you must have to survive. For all the obvious things that you need to survive, but salt is very useful for meat preservation, smoking works also. And the answer bpost gave canning.
I always have on hand at least 250 pounds. So I hope that I am quicker than my nearest neighbor and have two shift security. Also you will not Burn me out.0 -

I finally broke down and joined one of those chat crap forums. Decided on Twitter. I joined and made one post. Within 10 minutes they locked my account ?

A deck of cards.
A huge factor in any survival situation is boredom and mental diversion.
Even if you have everything required for physical survival you can loose it all if the mind isn't occupyed when the body is experiencing "down time".
Cards, board games, books, a football, etc. are extremely important, especially if kids are involved0 -
A shovel. To bury the dead who try and steal . 0
