O....M.....G......moving furniture....picked up my son's bed and WOW

I swear.....reclaiming the house after your last child moves out is a new sort of feeling. Its like taking the last test of the year in school....or making that last payment on a car type of feeling. You are worried for them at first and you leave things like they are for a while, but eventually you start thinking of things you might want to do and before you know it you are excited to start altering things to fit the new plan.

So, Liam has been gone for a bit and I've decided I do not need two spare bedrooms.....so I am currently working on making one of the bedrooms an office. I gave his king size bed to someone who came and got it just a bit ago.....they also got his leather recliner as a consolation gift for taking that giant bed away for me.

When we picked up the mattress and box spring it was AMAZING. His bed was in a corner, so there wasn't really a way to get things out from under his bed.....but WOW at the things he managed to get under his bed. I think there must be $30 in change....empty juice bottles....the hard case to his AR15.....100 socks.....3 pillow cases.....a fork.....parts to his drone.....welding gloves....a dinner plate.....deodorant....two empty shoe boxes....an unopened roll of paper towels.....2 bath towels.....a shirt.....two pairs of good carhart pants....one shoe.....a PS4 console.....6 AA batteries.....two OLD bottles of Lipton green tea.....along with some little garbage and dust bunnies.

I'm not shocked. I was worried the people picking up the bed would change their mind about wanting it once we lifted it up, but they just laughed.

    Had a water bed for years ............. never had an issue with ANYTHING getting underneath it.

    When the water bed mattress went bad, used the headboard & base of the waterbed to put my sleep number bed on.

    Knew a fellow that as soon as he checked into a hotel/motel ~ tossed the mattress over. Claimed he found all sorts of 'goodies' hidden under the hotel/motel mattresses. :o

    FREEDOM: The condition that prevails when the last child moves out, and the dog runs away.

    When my wife and I married, I inherited a little boy and a girl. 22 years later, our baby daughter headed off on her own. In that 22 years, we had fewer than 6 days that we did not have one of our baby chicks hanging out with us.

    It is a different feeling when, on a Friday evening, if you want to, you can walk out, get in the car, drive to the next state for the weekend. Take wallet and sidearm- anything else- they have stores where you are going.
