The police recently changed how many crimes are labeled. Shooting into an occupied house was changed to something that was like shooting a gun in the city. I can not remember all of the changes but it will make the numbers look good this year though.

The last time I was in Rocky Mount I was in a young ladies house when she sorta kinda started talking about how her 9mm handgun was close by and while she would never do such a thing it would be easy to shoot me. I had been invited to her home and had even stopped at Hardees to get her a sweet ice tea which she had asked me on the phone to bring. That pretty much ended our relationship and I don't like Rocky Mount. 0 -

The sheriff is right and wrong. Crime is down because they changed how they report crime.
I do not think the charges changed any just the reporting. The true numbers are white washed.0
