Another hero died this week
My wife?s uncle passed away on wed . He was born in 1929 and served in the Marine Corp from WW11 thru Korea He rose to the rank of Sargent during his service . I had known him for 20 years but he never talked anout his service. Simper fi and God bless you Marine .

My Dad was a 32 year Lifer, ABN CSM. WWII, Korea, Vietnam.

From what I have learned he lied about his age to enlist . He grew up dirt poor in eastern North Carolina . I guess the money $50 a month and free food , housing etc looked pretty good to him. He stayed on to make a career of it . 0 -

That was common back then, boring, going nowhere life on an old worked out farm....
