Any body shooting the Winchester .17 wsm {winchester super mag.}???
I love rimfires, and am thinking about this in a B-mag bolt gun.
Must be accurate above all. Does it shoot as good as some claim??

I don't have one but I have shot one of the Savage guns. Cock on closing weird bolt handle expensive ammo I really was not all that impressed.
I have a 17 Rem M700 and I would rather go that route but then I am an avid handloader. Maybe a 17 fireball would be a good handloading friendly alternative. I think one of those little CZ bolt guns in 17 Fireball would be a fun shooter, great on Pdogs close in and Ground or tree squirrels at any hunting range.
YMMV but that is just my opinion and I give it to you for free
I forgot to add when you have a 17 its a total game changer in cleaning equipment. You have to get new 17 cal rods, jags, patches ect ect. And man you have to clean a 17 because they foul faster than a 22 or even a 20. That said they are a blast.
I call mine the rice gun because the bullets look like a grain of rice

Yeap, I know know about the need for cleaning the small bore guns. Learned that many years ago with hot rod handloads for my 22/250 Rem.
The .17 's must be a chore.
Cock on closing don't worry me. I collect and shoot some old Military guns that use that
feature.
But the .17wsm MUST be well below MOA or I don't want it. I'm spoiled.0 -

I put 800 rounds through my Savage 17hmr while shooting sage rats one day. I thought about cleaning it at about 500 rounds but was still knocking them down at 200yds. so decided to not clean it until I went home.
I am very impressed with the rifle as long as the wind does not cut my fun off!0 -
I too shoot .17 HMR and I think it is a hoot. I got cleaning felts for pellet guns for cleaning mine. Great rabbit and squirrel gun.

They're really accurate unless you get a crosswind, the darn things just too light that it gets Blown Away In a crosswind. But if you're shooting it on the calm day, it's really accurate 0 -
Don't have a WSM but have had an HMR since they first came out. Bought the first 77/17 that Bass Pro got in. All the guys I shot prairie dogs with would take at least one rimfire for grins and giggles when you needed a break from the centerfire stuff. They all laughed at my 17HMR the first year until we started shooting. It outperformed the 22lr and 22 mags by a big margin. As far as wind drift goes it was a lot less than the 22 mags. Smaller cross section and shorter time in flight must be the reason. The next year everyone had a 17HMR and quit borrowing mine. Bob 0 -
From what I'm been reading the bullet used in the .17wsm has a higher BC than all the rest of the .17 rimfires. Between the higher speed and better BC, it supposed to have less than
1/3 the cross wind troubles.
I'll heard talk about 5 shot groups {calm day} at 200 yards of only .750" {3/4" inch}.
That's my kind of gun......if true.0
