Boil eggs mash up yolks with a little mayo, dash of vinegar, a smaller dash of mustard, yellow is better I think, salt and pepper. Sprinkle some red pepper or paprika on top if you want fancy sprinkle some green flakes on top

I just had Smoked Deviled eggs in Old Town Scottsdale Az last month for the first time.
    They are awesome!! SO GOOD!
There is a local place by my house that makes incredible deviled eggs. Nothing like traditional or Grandmas! A little bit of horseradish and a whisper of Sriracha sauce and topped with a little piece of candied bacon. DELICIOUS!
We are always on the prowl looking for great Deviled Eggs!

My wife unit has been known to substitute good blue cheese dressing for the mayo

I like to add a generous amount of minced jalapeno to the standard deviled egg mix, then top with a slice of fresh jalapeno, to make the difference apparent at family functions, picnics, etc.

Ooooo, another great idea! Thank you. ;)

    "Wife unit." That's hilarious!! :D:lol::D:lol::D

I refer to her often, as wife unit, or she who shall be obeyed.

Both terms of endearment plagiarized from right here off the forums.

    Mmmmnnnn. Bacon.

Shrimp deviled eggs with bacon crumbles

    Ingredients:

    12 eggs

2 teaspoons unsalted butter ( there's enough salt in the shrimp)

    1 cup small salad shrimp

    1 green onion, chopped

    1 pinch garlic powder

1/2 cup mayonnaise, or to taste

    1 teaspoon mustard

1/4 cup sweet pickle relish, drained

1 dash hot pepper sauce (optional)

3 slices of bacon' crumpled (optional)

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, or as needed

    Directions:

Place the eggs into a saucepan in a single layer and fill with water to cover the eggs by 1 inch. Cover the saucepan and bring the water to a boil over high heat. Remove from the heat and let the eggs stand in the hot water for 15 minutes. Drain. Cool the eggs under cold running water. Peel once cold. Halve the eggs lengthwise and scoop the yolks into a bowl. Gently mash the yolks with a fork.

Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat; cook and stir the shrimp, green onion, and garlic powder in the melted butter for about 4 minutes, until shrimp is pink. Transfer the shrimp to a cutting board and mince. Stir 3/4 cup of the minced shrimp and any remaining liquid from the skillet into the egg yolks; reserve remaining shrimp for garnish. Add the mayonnaise, mustard, pickle relish, and hot sauce; mix well. Scoop the mixture into a resealable plastic bag, seal the bag, and snip a corner off the bag with scissors to make a piping bag.

Gently squeeze about 1 1/2 tablespoon of filling into each egg white half. Garnish each deviled egg with a few pieces of the reserved chopped shrimp and a pinch of the chopped fresh parsley , along with crumbled bacon if using. chill for at least 30 minutes in refrigerator before serving.

NIce modified C & P. I also like the plagiarizing of my piping bag tip above. Hope you warn folks before serving something like that. One of the biggest mistakes made by amateur cooks is to put something conflicting/unusual in a common dish. I've watched others taken away in ambulances due to shellfish being in something that normally would simply not have it, like your "appetizer." Bon App?tit.  ;)

I spotted that as well. Was going to comment about the Cut and Paste.

Came from "Owning a French Restaurant." I'm sure. Dom Frits. :)

Deviled Eggs that bite back. Mash up the yolks and cream them with yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, and jalapeno juice from a jar of sliced jalapenos. NO MAYONNAISE! Then, spoon the yolk mash into the whites. On top of each, place one slice of jalapeno that you got from the same jar you got your juice from. Then for color, sprinkle on powdered red pepper. When eating, sprinkle on some salt and pepper to taste. These are MUCH tastier than DE made with mayo. :P

Use what ever recipe you like, BUT substitute mashed potatoes for the egg & add yellow mustard for color. Yeah, ugh, but it will taste 95% the same & you won't feel so guilty. A friend does this at parties & no one notices.

I pickle eggs a lot, I do a spicy pickled brine with habanero, Serrano and jalape?o peppers (onions, garlic and red bell pepper, pickling spice, vinegar, sugar and a pinch of salt).

One day I decided to make a few into deviled eggs. They'd been in the brine for a few weeks. Oh man, they were a hit!

How can it get any better than that, pickled eggs and deviled eggs all in the same egg?

With this thread, now I think I'm going to do them with a bit of horseradish and smoke them!

    WOO HOO!!

Okay, now my mouth is watering.

Why would anyone, in their right mind, boil, then peel eggs...when they could fry them with sausage and potatoes?

BTW- I blend the yolks with cream cheese and sweet pickles (bread & butter).

Mayo, yellow mustard and horse radish to taste. Sprinkle crushed chile pepper, like for pizza on top of half, dried dill on the other half.
