You guys feel like proofreading this one??? Its a nice one....I'm sure there is lots of information that I have left out, but if there is anything important that I've missed let me know. THANK YOU!

    not near in the same league but i have an Erma Werke artillery luger in 22lr like new for about 35 years now....fun little shooter ...it's somewhere in a safe .....found it at a gun show in Dodge City..... will watch this one

    Kasey, I think that's a fake. If you send it to me I'll be happy to examine and research it against my documentation of Lugers at no charge. It will only take 30-40 years to complete :D:D

    Just out of curiosity, I've never seen a Luger with matching numbers on the magazine. Is that just the way it is or extremely rare to have it matching?

    In all my years I have only seen ONE luger with a matching number on the mag. Most of what I've seen didn't have numbers on the mags at all....but if they did have numbers it wasn't the same as the gun. I was suspicious of the one that I dealt with that did have matching numbers. I mean its so unheard of that I didn't think it was actually possible to have a matching mag on these.

    Unfortunately. The 1917 is the most common of all artillery Lugers.
    There are many for sale here and other places, not many sell.
    I'm sure yours will, but don't expect High dollars.
    If I was pressed for a number, it would be under $1000, unless you can find something odd about that gun, but a 1917 is not a candidate for being odd. Sorry.
    Is there any evidence of red paint removed from the "9" mark on the grip.
    Most had the paint, but some armors did it in black too, which shouldn't be on that gun.

    Good luck with the auction, but I think you are about 30 years too late to get big bucks.

    I hope you are wrong on price. I don't remember ever seeing a standard Luger in average condition bring less than a grand, let alone an artillery version.
    I do agree there are many out there that are way over priced though.

    I hope I'm wrong too, for Karl and Kasey's sake.

    Your right about too many out there way over priced!! I've found in many years of selling on the internet, that this hurts the price on items for sale starting at a penny or a realist

    Well, that Luger caught the eye of a bidder that sells and buys lots of WW2 items.
    It may do very well if he wants it bad enuff and has the pockets for it.

    Looks like he does.

    Now you just need some else to start a bidding war.

    I searched for P08 and also searched by going down the filters separately and this auction didn't show up in either search.

    I'm not a Luger expert, so you may be correct. But I also used the filters going down the path of "pistols - semi auto - 9mm - Luger" and it still wasn't there. Unless a DWM is not considered a Luger either. As I said, not a Luger expert, but love the looks and would like to own one to shoot some day.

    Your searches have nothing to do with a gun is or is not.
    Any normal search engine looks for what you type in.
    If you type 9mm, you get over 10000 hits.
    if you add PO8 you still get thousands of hits.
    Nowhere is PO8 in that listing, so you may not get to that gun.

    Enter artillery luger and it's the 6th gun shown up.

    Kasey... l had an IHMSA Field Pistol Match this past Sat in Gainesville Ga... Do you think this Luger will work on the 200M Rams this coming Saturday?;-)
