Put about $30,000 plus a lot of Sweat Equity into that thing and it could be nice ride.

That seller is saying, "take the tags off this and make your Lemans a GTO!"

Some one with lesser morals will make a lot of money with that shell.
retail price of a 1970 Lemans is about $5,000 in decent shape.
retail price of a 1970 GTO is about $12,000.
That shell has almost everything needed to "make" a GTO.
Tags, build stickers, paint code decals are worth money to the people that make bogus
    hot rod cars of yesteryear.

Thank you all. YOU made my point exactly.
Here is a cliiist for a lemans for only $9000. Add the "242" vin plates and code decals,
and some work, you got a GTO that many people won't know the difference.
    https://newhaven.craigslist.org/cto/d/westerly-1970-pontiac-lemans-sport/6847103438.html

Oh and an old hotrodded with orginal but modified drivetrain, needing much body work. just sold locally for $10,000.

There are deals out there for every old muscle car made, IF you are willing to do the restore work. If you just know how to wax them, well then you pay $50,000 for them.

    What a deal!

You get an Intake with carb, some valve springs and a brake booster and MC!

Now all you need is...................................a boat load

Changing the VIN Number will get you in hot water.

Absolutely correct and illegal. See my earlier post...."Lesser morals" and "bogus" are the important words I used.
