Im interested in all the knowledge and help i can get.

I have scroll saws, table saws, band saws, grinders, several different belt sanders from 1 inch to 4 inch. Plus i have a spindle grinder that i think would help a lot. I would like to get a 2 inch grinder like on Forged In Fire.

The things i know im missing is the forge, anvil and tongs.

I have some extra flap disks that are 4 1/2 round most are 40 or 80 grit most are 40 i think.

Would you be interested in some? If so how many. Just let me know.

    What are you calling a bevel? Also where do you live if you are close to NC i would be interested in seeing you make a knife. I learn better by seeing in person.

    Here is an illustration of bevel styles below. I prefer to use the compound bevel style. Most mass produced knives have hollow ground bevels because they can grind both sides of the blade at the same time with twin spindles.

    I'm all set on tools, but thanks for asking.

    I am located near Hudson Michigan, about twenty miles from the Ohio line. Since I don't work on them every day, it takes me about two weeks, off and on, to complete a knife, and that doesn't include the sheath.

    Here's my logo. Still trying to fine tune my laser to smooth things out.

    LOL Michigan is a long ways from NC. I had a friend of mine when i was in the military and he was from the up and he about died in Arizona. He got out after 4 years. He could not stand Arizonas heat.

    Thanks for the stuff but if you want some flap disk i have around 100 or so.

    I have no problem if you want some just tell me the grit and how many and i will hook you up.

    Thanks for the help and the information. Im interested in making knives because after cancer i can not work anymore and i am bored as crap. I read a lot to make time go bye. i have about 1 to 2 hours a day to do what i want.

    I can go out in the mourning and work slow and listen to the radio and chill. Work at my own pace and it is what it is.

    I will have to figure out how much i can do ina day and go from there. If i go too far i will be in the house for 2 or 3 days from pain. If i go slow i think it would fun and i will have something to look forward too.

    I am looking to make 3 knives for my boys and 2 for grandkids and 2 for best friends who like to hunt.

    If you do not mind i might hit you up for some advice. I think i am going to Ollies and look for a book on making knives Monday. I hope they have one.

    I like your laser. The logo looks pretty good. I ran across a knife with RW engraved on it and i have no idea who made it but it was not done by hand. It was done with a machine because it is to perfect.

    It is a really nice knife. Your sheaths turned out great. I am not even thinking about sheths yet.

    Dave, here is a link to Tely's youtube channel. You can learn a ton from watching him. He's not a forge guy, but his stock removal methods are good. I got hooked on his handle making skill.

    The logo is a two step process. I cut the shape through a piece of tape, attach it to the knife, and then etch the blade with my Etch O Matic
