Being an invalid SUCKS!
My left ankle has been in a non weight bearing cast for a month now since my ankle fusion.
I had a new cast put on & the stitches taking out last Tuesday, and the Doc told me she would probably put me in a walking boot in two more weeks.
I can almost not wait, I am getting board to hell just sitting around the house. Think God for the four wheeled scooter the VA gave me that I can put my knee on, and allows me to move around the house. Keeps me some what mobile, but it has it?s limitations. I have crutches, but when I have tried to use them it is very hard to do, and not put weight on my left leg.
I am chomping at the bit to be able to get out into my shop. Things are starting to stack up on me, that and we picked up my wife?s two new Liberty addition 1973 SAA?s in 45 Colt on Tuesday from the Gun Smith. I can?t wait to try them out...

Try using a walker. When I broke my hip a couple years back I was non weight bearing for 8 weeks. I got pretty good using the walker and hopping with the right leg. 0 -
I went four months non weight bearing with I broke my leg in 2012. It sucked. Heal quick prayers sent. 0 -
GreatGuns,
Yes I still use the 110 folding Buck knife. I keep it in my fanny pack, razor sharp, and it?s my go to field dressing tool...

I had one of those knee scooters I rode around on for a few months back in 2011 when I tore the Achilles tendon in my right leg twice. Sure beats crutches or a walker. 0 -
Yep - hang in there. it'll improve. 0 -
Been in a wheel chair for over 6 years now and will not be getting upright again - ya , it sucks. 0 -
I know not being able to do the things that you want and need to do is frustrating.
However do EXACTLY what the doctors say and follow physical therapy to a T.
I had both knees replaced and it was important for me to do the PT.
The doctor stressed that more than a few times. Now my knees are good to go.
Prayers for a faster recovery.0 -
