I seriously thought when he got elected he would at least put the right people in the right job even if he didn't know what he was doing. This fine Trump acting DHS Director is, of course, a lawyer from the Chicago commie university system and he is well regarded by Democrats and the Koch-wing of the Republican party.

As to the 2016 staged choice of lefty-collectivist clown #1 or big city statist-collectivist clown #2, I chose door number 3, a write in.
Neither one of the offered-up clowns measured up to constitutional/founding principle muster, thus they were summarily rejected by this man.
My educated and informed clear-eyed pre-election assessment of both candidate clowns and now the current potus, have proven accurate.

(Not looking to argue either.) I'm simply trying to understand where some People I respect, (You.) came to Vote for an individual who had no realistic chance of winning, instead of making sure Hillary did Not.
I KNOW, I did not want Hillary in Office. I tried to make sure my Vote, insured that end.
It is sad, we are left with the Lesser of two Evils choice, unfortunately the realistics of the situation dictated that was not the case.

He has done a 180 on much related to immigration and I can provide the footnotes, but why bother. Heck, he is even calling for a major increase in H1 Visa immigrants to take American jobs.
We have him calling for gun confiscations first, due process second which by the way equates to the opposite of due process. The Trump Red Flag gun confiscation law approaches. We have an actual bump stock ban...the fed govt on Trumps orders makes gun parts/personal property for individuals illegal via BATFE regulatory fiat.
There is so much more but why bother listing it because so many 'patriots' and republicans are chirping crickets because he is 'their guy'. It would, of course, be vastly different, a cacophony of wailing and gnashing of teeth if it were 'the other turd' who was doing the same exact thing.

I absolutely agree that a poll among the typical voter would indicate exactly the agreement you state.
Therein lay the issue, as I assessed it many years ago.
Those few of us who see things clearly and with principle are few and we deliberately remain outside the warm and safe confines of the greater herd, therefore, we who stray from the staged-party orthodoxy are generally shunned and/or attacked. The greater herd doesn't like mavericks and free thinkers. They like those of us who act outside the herd even less. We represent that which may prove to be true if acknowledged. Mental acknowledgement and the realization that one has been willingly facilitating a vast lie and a false paradigm are considered dangerous, in some vague unfocused manner, by the grazers of the greater herd.
