Harbor Freight Tool Test
My kids bought me a sandblast cabinet from Harbor Freight. I wanted the one that sat on a bench top but they bought the big stand alone on the floor kind.
I have used the 2000 dollar sandblasters at work and the only thing that is better on them than the Harbor Freight sandblaster is the lighting. The light on the harbor freight cabinet needs to be better.
However i have great lighting in the shop so it does not bother me as much. I would recommend this to anyone who wants or needs one. The only difference between the 2 sandblasters at HF is the door size. I like the bigger door on the floor model.
Another good tool that HF has is the small plastic 6.5 gallon parts washer. I have had mine about 4 years and it still works great. I have the one that sits on the work bench. If/when it breaks i will be getting the metal one that stands on the floor.
Both of these tools work great. If you though in the price they can not be beat.

With the low quality of name brand tools today Harbor Freight stuff is as good as any of them.
It's just according to how much Sake the Asian guy had to drink the night before he's making the tool that will determine the quality.0 -
I was coming out of H.F. one day along side a contractor. I mentioned the quality of their tools. He said their framing nailers were actually as good as any he?d found. He said they all crap out after a lot of severe use. He just tosses them and buys more. 0 -

i buy a bit of stuff from HF, almost all works like they are suppose to, some things dont. i buy it realizing it is not commercial quality stuff but more often than not they do the job. they have many speciality items i cant find anywhere else that i may need only one time. i personally like their small gas motors and have several. however the one on my tiller thats about 7 years old is starting to give me trouble, its taking three pulls to start it the first time after the winter. think i will just take it off and use it for a trot line weight. probably go get me one of those fine $500.00 hondas 0 -
When i was doing hauling an demo work. I would buy there sawal's an there steel circular saws. they would work just like the major name tools. As long as I put good quality blades in them. They would burn up about the same time as the major mane ones would. Was always cheaper to buy them an replace when needed. If one of my guys would drop one an it broke not a lot of money lost. There tarp's are good too 0 -
bought a pack of sawzall blades there one blade sawed up a small barn 
most metric tools in the metric HF chest are all HF0 -
Used their Chicago Electric 7" angle grinder all week on mortar joints. I'm sure it won't last like my 20 year old 4" German Matebo but I needed a 7" and the price was right. 0 -
I have had fairly good luck with stuff I bought a HF.
I have a sander & drill press in my Leather shop from there, and they seem to work just as well as the Craftsman drill press & sander I have in my reloading area. I bought the large hardwood shop table with four drawers that they advertise all the time. I put wheels on it so I can roll it around the shop. It was a bear to put together, but works well. I did notice this past winter that it has started to show cracking on the top of the table, but I thought this may have been because It is near the heater source in the shop. I keep a cutting board pattern on the top, so it?s wood finish isn?t a big deal.
The one thing I don?t ever buy from them is there replacement warranty. I once bought one on a hand held spot light, and when it stopped working they gave me a hassle on redeeming it.

Dave, thanks for the post. I wanted one of those for a while. I need the sandblaster for many things, and my BIL is getting tired of me using his all the time, I'm sure. I watched the videos on how to correct some of the problems with the lighting and such, but they did say they were pretty good. Keep me updated on it. Oak 0 -
How do you keep the blaster from fogging up with dust. After about 10 seconds, I cant see. 0 -

Same here. I don't buy anything from HF where my safety could be jeopardized. But with the quality of most other brands going down, it may not matter!0 -

My 10 year old porter cable 4? angle grinder recently bit the dust . Barbour freight just opened here in town so I bought one of theirs . With the sale price and the 20% of coupon it cost $14 . So far it is working great. 0
