Captain D's opening
Wife and I like Captain D's but, until now, not one nearby. Drove to our new one last night for a pickup. That place was packed, inside and out. 45 minutes to get through the drive-thru. Cars bumper to bumper from the window, around the building and out to the street. The owner will be in the "black" in no time. I heard, at one time, that Captain D's will not allow one within 5 miles of another. Good fast food.

They opened up a new one about 3 miles from our house 2 years ago. It only took them 6 months to run off their customers by being skimpy on the servings and never changing the grease. We now drive the 17 miles to the old one we used to go to.
We went by the new one yesterday and there were 2 cars in the parking lot. We went to the old one to pick up a couple of dinners to go and the parking lot was full and the drive thru was backed up.
Idiots trying to save a penny will go out of business before long.0 -

Its been forever since I've had Captain Ds. I used to love it every once in a while, but it seemed the ones in my area had gone downhill somewhat when I last gave it a try. 0 -
Never been to a "Caprain D's" (was tempted a time or two while in Bristol for my eye surgeries and check ups, recently.)
I LOVE Long John Silver's.
Was seriously bummed when the only one near me, (30 miles.) In Boone, NC. Closed.
How do you F' up running a Long John Silver's, in a College town? (Appalachian State.)0 -
It is surprising how many kids today do not eat fish. We love it and have many different ways to prepare it. 0 -
I think there are three in the greater Orlando area. None are close enough for me to eat there regularly, but I will drop in when I'm "downtown". The last time I ate at Captain D's I had the Deluxe Seafood Platter with coleslaw and steamed broccoli. It was quite good. 0 -

They had a spicy fish a while back that was really good!
It was "New Orleans Hot Fish."

If I wanted to eat fish, I'd go to Long John Silvers and order the chicken!

Capt. D 's are funny.
Find a good one and the fish/food is worth the trip.
Eat in a bad one and you'll swear never to go back again.
We used to drive by 2 of them in north Tn. and eat at the one on the Tn/KY border because it was just so much better.0
