Pretty amazing stuff. He was Blinking T-O-R-T-U-R-E while giving a propaganda interview in 1966.
He was a POW for 8 years.

  He was an American Hero. I met him once and shook his hand, it was an honor.
  
  Not many people know what he did while a POW. He was the poster boy for resisting and leadership under extreme circumstances.
  
  He was also a Senator and represented Alabama in the Mid 80's.
  
  He wrote a book titled; When Hell was in Session I highly recommend reading it.
